You can handle matters related to unemployment insurance contributions with the Employment Fund easily and quickly via the unemployment insurance contributions online service.
In the online service, you can:
Authentication for the service takes place via Suomi.fi-identification using personal online banking credentials, mobile certificate, or a certificate card. For foreigners without these identification methods please use the “identification methods for foreigners”-section in the identification page.
As an employer, you can authorize another person or company to handle unemployment insurance contribution matters on your behalf. You may also request authorization to act on behalf of another individual or company. Companies, associations, and private individuals manage authorizations in the Suomi.fi-service.
If an employer or entrepreneur seeks authorization for, in example, an accounting firm representative or another party managing their affairs, the role “Management of Unemployment Insurance Contributions” must be selected for the authorized person. This can be found in the Suomi.fi-service under the “Work and Unemployment” customer category. More detailed instructions about authorizations are available at Suomi.fi/e-authorizations.
Municipalities, parishes, educational institutions, business partnerships, foreign companies, estates, foundations not entered in the Trade Register, and public officials with signing rights must first apply for authorization rights via the https://www.suomi.fi/e-authorizations/authorisation-with-an-application. After this, authorizations can be granted in the Suomi.fi-service.
Once the authorizations are in order, you can manage unemployment insurance contribution matters, for example, on behalf of a client company via the online service. After logging in, you can choose whether to act as a private individual, on behalf of another person, or on behalf of a company. If you select to act on behalf of a company, you will see a list of all companies for which you have the right to manage unemployment insurance contribution matters. Select the company whose matters you wish to handle today and continue to the online service.
You may also authorize another person or company to manage unemployment insurance contribution matters on your behalf with a separate letter of authorization. Complete the attached form according to whether you are authorizing yourself or a company.
You can deliver the letter of authorization to the Employment Fund either by email or by post. Customer service contact and address details can be found at the page Contact Information. The letter of authorization can also be submitted via the online service as a message attachment by a person who has the organisation’s official signing rights. Log in to the service as a representative of the organisation and submit the letter of authorization as an attachment.
Authorizations granted by a letter of authorization are recorded in the customer’s information details.
Please note that a letter of authorization that is given on behalf of an organisation can only be signed by a person with the organisation’s official signing rights.
The letter of authorization is valid either for the period specified in the document or until further notice. You can change the validity or revoke a previously given authorization by completing the attached form and submitting it to the Employment Fund.
